Kaya is a documentary photographer who loves capturing human emotions. He has studied with John Lueders-Booth, Barbara Norfleet, Ann Wilkes Tucker and Elsa Dorfman at Harvard as he majored in Biochemistry and minored in Visual & Environmental Studies. Later, chemistry of humans was more interesting to him than molecules. At the onset of Media Lab at MIT, he also studied with Starr Ockenga and Arno Minniken.

Kaya has exhibited in United States and in Turkey, has been published internationally, and has won numerous documentary photography awards.

He travels the world to photograph or waits for the world to come to New York City where he lives with his wife Patricia who is also a photographer.
